Google, Apple's new job postings go viral

Google's and Apple's latest job listings mention positions which require significant crypto experience.

Though the companies do not say they are launching any crypto products, the listings reveal that the tech giants are seeking candidates who have preferably worked in the digital assets industry.

Google is looking to hire an Industry Principal Architect, Web3, in Hong Kong. The role involves serving as the executive technical authority guiding Google Cloud's engagements across the Web3, digital assets, and decentralized technology ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

The role requires a candidate who can establish Google Cloud as the cloud of choice for Web3 builders and institutional adopters, the tech giant said.

The candidate should also four years of experience with production-grade Web3 systems, blockchain protocols such as Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible Layer 1 or Layer 2 networks, Solana, Move, or Cosmos, or smart contract ecosystems.This was in addition to 10 years of experience in system architecture, distributed systems design, or cloud infrastructure.

For this role, Google mentioned preferred qualifications as experience with institutional digital asset infrastructure, blockchain node infrastructure, Zero-Knowledge (ZK) infrastructure, rollup architectures, Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN), etc.

The candidate should preferably have knowledge of institutional Web3 use cases, such as real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, stablecoin rails, tokenized deposits, and custody architectures within regulated financial environments.

Apple is looking for an Apple Pay Financial Product Strategy Lead in New York City or Cupertino, California.

The role involves developing long-term business strategies with the Apple Card and Apple Cash product teams, which focus on consumer credit cards, peer-to-peer (P2P) money transfer, stored value, and other consumer financial products.

A P2P money transfer is a key feature of the crypto ecosystem, which means sending money from one wallet to another without any central intermediary such as a bank.

The Apple Pay Financial Product Strategy Lead is also expected to engage on topics across Wallets, Payments, and Commerce.

The candidate should have a minimum of six years of experience in consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, strategic finance, or a similar field.

Two or more years of experience in P2P payments or credit cards and understand stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and blockchain technology would be preferred, as per the listing.
