The semiconductor benchmark is having its best day in just over a month.

The SOX was up 5% on Tuesday, which would be its best daily performance since June 18, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The index got off to a strong start on Monday before paring gains, but today’s rally showed signs of follow through heading into the afternoon.

The SOX entered the week searching for support, writes Adam Turnquist, chief technical strategist for LPL Financial. He notes the index fell more than 17% in July through Monday and underperformed the S&P 500 by about 19%. After closing at around 11,669 on Friday, Turnquist sees 11,195 as a level of initial support.
