The Nasdaq 100 was down to 27,452.95 at its intraday low, which would have put the index 10.5% below its June 2 record close. A 10% drawdown from a recent closing high puts an index in a technical correction.

The Nasdaq Composite was down 9.3% from its June 2 closing high, which put it in striking distance of a correction.
