O'Keeffe Stevens Advisory, an investment advisory firm, released its third-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. The letter describes a narrow Q3 2026 market rally—mega-cap gains lifted the S&P 500 to 2.3% while most stocks and smaller-cap indexes fell—and notes the portfolio's Octave purchase, M&T Bank sale, and Corning options repurchase. The letter raises concerns about the scale and financing of AI infrastructure spending, despite strong demand and AI's potential, and closes by reaffirming a disciplined approach: own durable businesses at reasonable prices, hold cash when valuations are stretched, and manage position risk. In its Q3 2026 investor letter, O'Keeffe Stevens Advisory highlighted Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE:WY). Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE:WY) is the largest private owner of timberlands, engaged in growing and harvesting trees, managing timberlands, and manufacturing wood products. On November 2, 2026, Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE:WY) closed at $21.27 per share with a market capitalization of $15.34 billion. Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE:WY) posted a 1-month return of 11.77% and a 52-week loss of 7.97%, trading within a 52-week range of $18.26 to $27.75.

O'Keeffe Stevens Advisory stated the following regarding Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE:WY) in its Q3 2026 investor letter

"Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE:WY) -20.4%. Our Q4 and Q1 letters argued that softwood lumber was near the end of a multi-year downturn. Unsurprisingly, when mortgage rates are near multi decade highs, the demand and outlook for new home construction is weak. Lumber futures fell 12.6% ($617.00 to $539.50), mortgage rates moved above 7%, and housing remains stuck. Should demand recover on the margin, lumber prices could increase materially as every part of the supply chain is lean today, although there is no assurance that demand will recover."
