During the company's earnings call Thursday, Cook shed some light about Apple's decision to raise prices on Macs and iPads.

Apple had lifted prices on some products earlier this year to offset some of the cost concerns as memory prices surged.

Cook said on the call that Apple made this decision "reluctantly." Apple's price hikes came after other firms had raised priced on their PCs and tablets.
