That thinking applies to SpaceX in a way: With great AI computing capacity comes great spending. The pace and ambition of AI spending at Elon Musk's rocket company are something to behold.

SpaceX spent $15.8 billion on AI in the second quarter, up from $7.7 billion in the first quarter, and up from $749 million in the second quarter of 2025. The spending yielded results. AI computing capacity ended the second quarter at 1.4 gigawatts, up from 0.4 gigawatts a year ago.
