Momentum ETFs were living up to their names in early afternoon trading.

The Invesco S&P 500 Momentum ETF, the Invesco Dorsey Wright Momentum ETF, and the iShares MSCI USA Momentum Factor ETF were gaining steam, while smaller stocks continued to lag.

The Dow was up 173 points, or 0.3%, while the S&P 500 was up 0.2%. The Nasdaq was hovering near breakeven.
