Stocks looked set to tick higher on Tuesday as investors got over the worst of their worries about inflation, even though there was still no end in sight to the conflict in the Middle East.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures climbed 22 points, effectively trading flat. S&P 500 futures added 0.1%. Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.3%.

The three major indexes dropped on Monday, dragged down by a spike in oil prices. Hopes of a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz have faded in recent days, causing investors to fret about the disruption of crude flows through the key shipping corridor.
