The stock market was gaining steam after Wall Street cleared both of this week’s inflation reports.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 220 points, or 0.4%. The S&P 500 rose 0.8%. The Nasdaq Composite gained 0.9%.

The big three indexes were mixed on Wednesday after the July consumer price index matched expectations. The July producer price index for total final demand was unchanged, which was in line with expectations.
