عائدات السندات لمدة 30 عامًا تنخفض، مما يشير إلى شراء عند الانخفاض
The long bond selloff has taken a pause as Treasury yields trade largely flat, following a surge that took them to multi-year highs.
The 30-year Treasury yield was trading at 5.30%, a slight pullback from Monday's settlement value of 5.31%. Falling yields mean bond prices have risen. The tick lower comes after 30-year yields reached a peak of 5.339% this morning, a level not seen since June 12, 2007. The 10-year Treasury yield is also trading lower compared to Monday levels.
Bond fund managers, likely attracted by the all-in yields, bought long bonds. For investors, a yield of over 5.3% on a 30-year bond offered an attractive carry. That means the coupon or the interest from the bond was so good that it outweighed the cost to borrow money to buy the bond.
