Stock market selling accelerated after a spike in oil prices.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 300 points, or 0.6%. The S&P 500 dropped 0.4%. The Nasdaq Composite, which was up earlier in the afternoon, was down 0.3%.

Brent crude oil futures were up 2.3% to $90.54 a barrel, while WTI crude was up 2.2% to $84.19 a barrel. Wall Street is getting impatient with the lack of progress on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, though the daily headlines have faded in the background in recent weeks.
