The stock market held onto modest gains after minutes from the Federal Reserve’s July meeting highlighted a split among central bankers.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 110 points, or 0.2%. The S&P 500 was up 0.3%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.2%.

That's roughly where the major indexes were prior to the release of minutes from the July 28-29 Federal Open Market Committee meeting, during which central bankers opted to hold interest rates steady.
